Board Operator (Part-Time)

The Uplift Network is offering a great opportunity as a (Part-Time) Weekend Board Operator providing programming and control board support to On-Air Talent. Our ideal candidate should possess an excellent work ethic, be a self-starter, and be a highly organized person with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position requires extreme reliability and flexibility. If you are a fast learner familiar with audio equipment and automation, have a pleasing demeanor around others, and have a passion for radio, read on. 

Who We Are: The Uplift Network is an Urban Contemporary Gospel radio station that features Contemporary Gospel Music, Nationwide Ministries, and Local Community and News Podcast. The Uplift Network will serve the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex with a worldwide reach.

Our Opportunity: The Uplift Network seeks a weekend Board Operator (Part-Time) for our control room studio. (NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED)

Key Responsibilities: Running the board in a radio station control room, broadcasting various live or pre-recorded local and syndicated radio programs. Playing commercials as scheduled and maintaining commercial logs. Selecting bumper music, when needed, and back-timing pre-recorded programs for a smooth transition back to live programming.

  • Board Operators will monitors and update weather, traffic, and news reports into the automation system.

  • Board Operators will monitor EAS Alerts, Ambers Alerts, and breaking news.

  • Board Operators will monitor the technical quality and accuracy of incoming and outgoing on-air programming from the master control room and assists with adjusting signal and programming content to ensure transmission meets mandated broadcast standards.

Job Requirements: Proficient in using computer systems such as Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Audition, or other audio editing and automation programs. Familiar with audio mixers and remote monitoring systems. Flexibility in scheduling is required; most of the hours are in the evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Part-Time  Announcer

Full Job Description
The Uplift Network is looking for a dynamic Part-time Announcer. Shifts can vary each weekend and can be voice-tracked in advance. If you can deliver lifestyle headlines, be focused, creative and multi-task and most of all…love radio, we should talk. Board work and production are all a part of what we do, so show us what you’ve got.

The Uplift Network is an Urban Contemporary Gospel radio station that features Contemporary Gospel Music, Nationwide Ministries, and Local Community and News Podcast. The Uplift Network will serve the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex with a worldwide reach.

Responsibilities for the Part-time Announcer include hosting shows that generate ratings by being entertaining and informative. Must have a deep understanding of how to go beyond the latest news, headlines, and events to craft an entertaining and unique product. The candidate should be able to plan and produce a quality show, through creative ideas, segments, celebrity interviews, and production elements. Daily commercial production is required. Candidates must have unparalleled passion, worth ethic, and drive.

Key Responsibilities:
Produce a compelling radio show by using creativity, imagination, and exercise of independent professional judgment in writing, producing, interviewing, taping, or broadcasting on-air content.

Connect with listeners via social, video, and web
Daily social media engagement; website and digital content generation
Commercial Production (PDQ) voice and produce ads for clients.

Handles emergency news/weather in the show; on call for weather disasters/breaking news
Plays music as specified by music director and music log.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
  • Must have experience with on-air automation systems, Adobe Audition and basic computer software programs.

  • Must have suitable wifi connection and speed as announcer will be producing shows from home on provided company equipment.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and social networking.

  • Socially informed and perceptive; up-to-date and in tune daily with national trends and/or specialized knowledge of topics/events related to on-air discussions.

  • Demonstrated upbeat personality, informative, entertaining and engaging on the air; able to relate to audience.

  • Pleasant, charismatic and well-controlled voice; excellent pronunciation.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and editing skills; proficient in grammar; ability to make others feel comfortable and open up on air.

  • Demonstrated creativity and imagination.

  • Can work well in a team environment; collaborative. 

  • Audio demo of on-air interviews, commentary, announcements, etc. must be added to online profile/application.
