Permitless carry
The most high-profile of the new legislation is arguably permitless carry (or constitutional carry). Starting on the first of September, House Bill 1927 allows anyone who legally owns a gun to carry it in public. No license or training is needed. The Reverend Jesse Jackson and his wife, Jacqueline, have both been hospitalized after testing positive for COVID-19, according to a statement released Saturday by Jackson's Rainbow/Push Coalition. The 79-year-old civil rights leader and his wife, 77, are both being treated at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago.
"Doctors are currently monitoring the condition of both," the statement said, adding, "there are no further updates at this time."
Their son, Jonathan Jackson, on Sunday said in a statement that doctors were "carefully monitoring their conditions" because of their ages.
"Both are resting comfortably and are responding positively to their treatments," he said.

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — “American Idol” star Syesha Mercado her partner, Tyron Deneer held a virtual press conference Tuesday as the couple continued their their fight to regain custody of their two children.
Last Wednesday, the couple recorded a viral video showing their newborn daughter being removed from their custody during a traffic stop in Manatee County. Mercado and Deneer said their 18-month-old son was taken from their care in March after they brought him to Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital in St. Petersburg to be treated for dehydration.
